| Welcome to the Neighborhood THE TALL BLONDE WITH A TOY GIRAFFE Armand Ruhlman Living in the East Village since the 1980’s, I’ve created a number of Film/Video projects (my short film, “Downtown Shadows,” was an official selection of the New York Short Film Festival - in Greenwich Village). I’ve also performed excerpts of my writing at La Mama theater and other live venues in downtown Manhattan. Besides New Orleans, I’ve lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, CA, Paris, and Marseilles, France. This included time in a crumbling garret overlooking the rooftops of the historic Bastille district in Paris. Jones As an actor, he has performed in plays such as August Wilson’s Women (AUDELCO AWARD), Fences (AUDELCO AWARD), Wild Children (written by Vincent Pastore of the HBO series The Sopranos), 365 Plays/365 Days, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Black Girl, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. He has performed in several films. His writing credits include the plays,Queen Z, being developed with the Chain Theatre NYC, Family Matters, produced at Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company, Angela’s Justice, produced at Theater for the New City and Josh: The Black Babe Ruth, produced at Woodie King, Jr’s New Federal Theatre. He has written several screenplays. Jed Peterson Previously at Metropolitan Playhouse: Thunder Rock; The Man Of The Hour. Created the role of Harry "the Hat" in the National Tour of CHEERS: Live On Stage. Dinwiddie is a playwright/composer and associate professor in the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University. His works have been produced in New York, regional, and educational theater, and he has served as playwright-in-residence at Michigan State University, Florida A&M University, St. Louis University and La Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina, among others. His awards include a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Playwriting and a Walt Disney Fellowship at Touchstone Pictures. In 2018 Michael was inducted into the College of Fellows at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild, the Writers Guild of America, the Association for Theatre in Higher Education,ASCAP, and the Black Theatre Network. Stick Around IZZY STICKS WITH IT Rex McGregor is a New Zealand playwright. His short comedies have been produced on four continents from New York and London to Sydney and Chennai. His most popular play, Threatened Panda Fights Back, has been produced over a dozen times. Aidan Eastwood previously appeared in Philip Barry’s You and I with the Metropolitan Playhouse and is happy to be back. He has numerous credits performing the works of Shakespeare, including Coriolanus, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Romeo and Juliet (The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey), Hamlet, Othello, Julius Caesar, and The Comedy of the Errors (Mainestage Shakespeare). He has also had a ton of fun working on Little Shop of Horrors (Playhouse on Park), and The Servant of Two Masters (Theatre for a New Audience). Jamahl Garrison-Lowe Michelle Geisler is finishing up her master's degree in music therapy at NYU and currently spends most of her time making music with children in a pediatric hospital. Michelle is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association and has worked with theatres in NYC and around the country. Highlights include a season with Alabama Shakespeare Festival (Twelfth Night [Viola], To Kill A Mockingbird [Mayella Ewell], Tom Sawyer [Becky Thatcher]...and a handful of others!), many summers working with Playhouse Stage Company (Albany, NY), and Metropolitan Playhouse's 2014 production of Icebound (Nettie). In addition to all of the above, Michelle has spent the past five years serving as the Visual and Performing Arts Director for an overnight summer camp in PA. Michelle is abundantly grateful to have spent a bit of this wild year working with Metropolitan Playhouse! Sarah Hankins is a director, actor, and teacher with a strong focus in collaboration, visual storytelling, and heightened language. Sarah is the Interim Artistic Director and Learning Director at Triad Stage in North Carolina. Previous credits include Artistic Director of the NYC eco-theatre Green Theatre Collective and six years as Associate Artist at Orlando Shakespeare Theatre. Michael Hardart is a director and actor based in New York City. He is Associate Director at Metropolitan Playhouse. As a director he has worked with Metropolitan Playhouse (Within the Law, A Man’s World; both nominated for NYIT’s Outstanding Revival, You and I, The Climbers, The Awful Truth, Rollo’s Wild Oat, Both Your Houses, Deep are the Roots, The Great Divide, Under the Gaslight, It Pays to Advertise), Abingdon Theater Company (Benefit Challenge Series), Sink or Swim Rep (An Ideal Husband), Boomerang Theater Company (Rock ‘n Roles) among others. Her book Lower East Side Oral Histories is available on Amazon.com. Marisol Carrere is Founder/Directing-Producer of CARRERE FILMS INTERNATIONAL, LLC. She is an award-winning Actress, a Writer & Producer. Marisol wrote/producer “I Am Julia”, directed by David Capurso. The short film chronicles her story of school bullies while growing up as an outsider in NY (winner 2012 Golden Palm Award/Mexico IFF). She is grateful to have been recognized as NY1 News “New Yorker Of The Week” for her Community work in schools with her film & international educational program THE I AM PEACE PROJECT, for the Prevention of Bullying, utilizing Screenwriting, Media & the Arts (Presented in NY, Colombia, Peru & Mexico). She has collaborated with several other companies, including Intar, La MaMa ETC, Mass Transit, The Women’s Project, Theater for the New City, New World Theater, Duo Theater, Urban Youth Theater (International Fringe Festival). She has presented at: TeatroStageFest (The Golden Cacao Bean), the Samuel Becket Theater as part of the Evening Shades festival in NYC. TheTalia Spanish Theater; and the Samuel French Festival. Directed four Stage Readings for the Actor's Studio P.D.U (member of the Playwrights and Directors Unit) Has directed plays for FELT Inc and Around the Block Inc. theater companies. For the Metropolitan Playhouse Theater, she directed the stage reading of Cola'o. She was invited to be part of the Actors Fund; The Performing Legacy Program. Ms. Zelaya has co-produced two films: I Am Julia, Mexico International Film Festival, Golden Palm Award. She also participated in the casting for the film, Festival short plays. Her latest work is the short film Hope Garden writer, director and co-producer of the film. Her play Life of a Painter was presented as part of the SEA Theater Festival of short plays. Hector Marin-Arias Set Designer- Was born in Costa Rica. He’s a painter/artist who studied in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Spain and France. He lived in Europe for 15 years where he painted and exhibited his work. He worked with the T.S.E theater company in Paris and Geneva and in New York with Don Quijote Experimental Children’s Theater with the production Stories of the Popol-Vuh. Mr. Marin has worked with The Puerto Rican Traveling Theater as a prop master for “Charge it Please”, Stage Manager for los “Jibaros Progresistas”. Designed the set for “Mujeres in Farsa Picante” Prop/Mask, designer, visual artist and technical director of “The Fickle Finger of Lady Death, Stage Manager for “Dr. Goodmouth” at the Apollo Theater, and the Riverside Stage Park and in Philadelphia. He designed in 1993 the official poster for the Boiler Room, starring Ms. Miriam Colon, directed by Alen Colon. Set Designer for Insights Series, three plays presented at HERE space; Productions of The Puerto Rican Traveling Theater. He is a founding member of FELT Inc. For this company he has designed the sets for the productions “For the Love of Liz'', ``Some People Have all the Luck”, ``The Missteps of a Salsa Dancer, '' Subway Story.” Set design for “The Little Hut” directed by Gloria Zelaya and winner of the ACE Latin Award 2007. He was the production designer/art director of the video “Life of a Painter” by Gloria Zelaya. He worked as Properties Design for “The King of Infinite Space” production of The Common Ground Stage and Film Company. Mr. Marin was the Art Director for the films “Walking with Angels'' and “Home is a Struggle” Winner of The Mesquite Award at the San Antonio Cine Festival, Texas. He holds a B.A degree in the arts from Queens College and an MFA from Brooklyn College. |
