to present Sephardic singer Nicole Murad and veteran
Uruguayan-American pianist, conductor and composer Pablo
Zinger in a joyful concert of Jewish music and culture
through songs in Ladino the Spanish Jewish
dialect Yiddish the German Jewish
dialect English and Spanish. Zinger and Murad bring their Sephardic, Ashkenazi, Latin-American and North-American backgrounds together in a program of Sephardic songs predating the 1492 expulsion from Spain, Yiddish songs reflecting the pre-Holocaust Ashkenazy culture of Eastern Europe, and Jewish influenced composers from South America and the United States. |
